The two major political party candidates for governor of Massachusetts have cast their ballots.

Democrat Martha Coakley voted at the West Medford Fire Station soon after polls opened Tuesday morning.

Republican Charlie Baker voted a little later at First Church in his home town of Swampscott.

Coakley was scheduled to attend campaign events in Springfield, Worcester and Dorchester with an election night party scheduled for the Fairmont Copley Plaza hotel.

Baker has scheduled visits to campaign offices in Peabody and Dedham and a voter greet at a West Roxbury church.

His election night party is scheduled for the Seaport Hotel in Boston.

They and three independents are vying to replace Democrat Deval Patrick, who has served two terms.
