A new British survey reveals that parents of a newborn lose an average of 44-nights of sleep in the first year of their baby's life. To find this, researchers asked over 1,800 people to estimate how many times they were awoken by various things. The researchers say that 62% of parents say they wake up to feed their baby, 57% say they awake due to their child crying or waking, and 45%wake up with worries about their baby's safety.

Additionally the research found that people are woken up by their partner more than twice a week, or 109 times per year.
