Authorities have released the name of the boater whose body was pulled from the Cape Cod Canal Sunday afternoon.

Tara Miltimore, a spokesperson for the Cape and Islands District Attorney’s Office, says that the body of 54-year-old Scott Allen Graichen was found following a 22-hour search that began after a towboat company came across an unmanned boat off Marion on Saturday.

The New Hampshire residents body was found by a boat crew from Coast Guard Station Cape Cod Canal around 12:30 p.m.

Graichen was then taken ashore where he was later pronounced dead by the Massachusetts Environmental Police and Sandwich Fire Department.

Miltimore says the matter remains under investigation by the Cape & Islands District Attorneys Office.
