Jim Phillips

WBSM News Director Jim Phillips is a New Bedford native who's been covering local news in the region since 1973. Jim worked at WBSM for 11 years in the 1970's and 80's before joining "Local Cable News," Channel 13 in Fall River. He served as News Director there for 22 years, coverng crime, politics and human interest stories. When the program ended in 2006, Jim happily accepted an offer to rejoin WBSM. Jim and his family live in North Dartmouth.

Sidewalk Project Begins At Fairhaven Town Hall

Workmen outside the Fairhaven Town Hall on Monday began reducing the width of sidewalks around that historic building.

ESPN reports Wayne and the Pats have agreed to a one-year contract.

A security guard is dead after a gunman opened fire at a Federal building in Lower Manhattan.

Police say the gunman is identified as 68-year-old Kevin Downing of Fort Lee, New Jersey.
