Jim Phillips

WBSM News Director Jim Phillips is a New Bedford native who's been covering local news in the region since 1973. Jim worked at WBSM for 11 years in the 1970's and 80's before joining "Local Cable News," Channel 13 in Fall River. He served as News Director there for 22 years, coverng crime, politics and human interest stories. When the program ended in 2006, Jim happily accepted an offer to rejoin WBSM. Jim and his family live in North Dartmouth.

New Bedford Police are looking for a teenager who assaulted a man during an attempted robbery in the North End.  Police say the incident happened late Thursday in the vicinity of 101 Nye Street.

Boston Police Overtime During Tsarnaev Trial Totaled Nearly $750,000

(Associated Press) - Boston police say they spent nearly $750,000 on officer overtime during the trial of Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.
