An Attleboro man is facing charges after his 3-month-old son was taken to the hospital with a broken arm and other injuries that appeared to be older.

Joshua Pulsinelli pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Attleboro District Court to assault and battery and reckless endangerment of a child charges.

The Sun Chronicle reports that the 25-year-old man was held on $1,500 cash bail.

Police were notified about the alleged abuse Sunday by the state Department of Children and Families. The agency was called by officials at Hasbro Children's Hospital in Providence where the child was treated.

A doctor at the hospital says the child's rib injuries appeared a week old.

Pulsinelli's lawyer says her client did not harm the child and the injuries could be accidental or caused by other people.
