A 25-year-old New Bedford man received a cut on his bicep during a robbery attempt Wednesday night.

Detective Captain Steven Vicente says the man was walking near County Street and Penniman Street around 11 p.m. when he was confronted by another man with a knife.

The suspect demanded money and when the victim refused he was punched in the face.

The victim made it home and was then taken to Saint Lukes Hospital where he was treated and released.

The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, five feet ten inches tall, with a medium build and braids. He was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans.
