Three people have been arrested in connection with the burned body found in Attleboro on Tuesday.

ABC6 is reporting that two women and a teenage boy are facing criminal charges in connection to the body, which Cranston Police say is linked to a murder in their town.

Melonie Perez and Samantha Rastella were arraigned Wednesday in connection to the unidentified body. Prosecutors say Perez' teenage son admitted to killing the victim, and that Perez and another person transported the body to Attleboro. The son will be arraigned Thursday on a murder charge in juvenile court in Providence.

Prosecutors also say Perez vandalized the interview room when taken into custody, and have also charged her with malicious damage to property. Rastella is also charged with compounding felony and failure to report crimes to police.

According to authorities, a police officer was patrolling in the area of Prescott Street around 2:50 a.m. Tuesday after recent drug deals had led to increased patrols in the neighborhood, which is close to an I-95 interchange. The officer discovered what was believed to be a brush fire near a small wooded area three feet from the road, which actually turned out to be the body still on fire.

The identity of the body is still unknown and this time, and the investigation is ongoing.

It is being investigated as a murder.
