A delay in the District Court arraignment of a New Bedford murder suspect.

Seventeen year old Darian Cardoza was arrested Thursday night, and was supposed to be arraigned Friday for the August 2nd murder of 24 year old Jeffrey Sylvia Jr.

But according to the D-A's office, Judge Jack Stapleton decided to delay the arraignment because of his personal relationships with both the D-A's office and the defense.

Stapleton is a former prosecutor, and so is the defense attorney, Joan Fund.

The arraignment was re-scheduled for Monday at 2pm.
