A Westport woman has launched a newspaper campaign against passage of casino questions on Rhode Island's ballot next week.  According to reports filed with the state Board of Elections, Elizabeth Meyer has spent 43-thousand-dollars on ads in various newspapers statewide in opposition to allowing Newport Grand and Twin River slot parlors to become full casinos.

"The Providence Journal" reports the ad cites a 2004 study that indicates an increase in serious crimes nationwide after a casino opened in an area.  The ad directs readers to a noRIcasinos.com web page.
