Another Successful Year for “Cans Across the Park”

WBSM's "Cans Across the Park" program extended non-perishable food items from Rockdale Ave to Brownell Ave several times thanks to hundreds of donors. Many listeners stopped by Buttonwood Park Saturday, dropping off canned and dry goods to help out those in need in time for the holiday season.

Rontelle Grant saw the event as an opportunity to teach his children a thing or two about volunteerism.

Even some four-legged friends will get a little extra in their bowls, as several hundred pounds of pet food was also collected.

The nearly 8,000 food items collected are being dispersed to local food pantries.
