Should animals have the same rights as people? A Gallup poll out May 19th found that 32 percent of Americans believe animals should have, quote, "the same rights as people to be free from harm and exploitation." The Week noted that a Gallup poll from three years ago found that just five percent of Americans are vegetarians, and wondered about the 27 percentage point difference from this new poll, writing, "Either a bunch of people aren't sure what they believe, or a bunch of people think human rights do not include a protection against being eaten."

Do you believe animals should have the same rights as people "to be free from harm and exploitation?
