A Fairhaven woman has been sentenced to two-and a half years in the House of Correction, one year to serve, after she was found guilty last month of motor vehicle homocide and other charges.

Renee Andrews was found guilty in the hit-and-run death of Katelyn Brienzo on Sconticut Neck Rd. in Fairhaven in November, 2011.

Andrews was sentenced Monday morning in Fall River Superior Court.  In addition to the one year in jail, Andrews is also facing five years of probation following her release, plus 300 hours of community service.  She also is losing her driver's license for 15 years.

Andrews' defense attorney presented 52 letters to the court, asking for leniency.
