The New Bedford Half Marathon is still a go.

Despite the record-breaking snowfall and diminished road conditions, Mayor Jon Mitchell says the race is going to take place as scheduled on Sunday, March 15. Speaking on his weekly radio program, Mitchell says though several road races on the Cape and Islands have already been cancelled, New Bedford is taking a different approach.

Mitchell says city crews are working to fill potholes and clear any remaining snow and ice along the marathon's 13.1 mile route through the city.

Registration for the Half Marathon ends Sunday, March 8, and can be accessed at NewBedfordHalfMarathon.com.
