The U.S. State Department is confirming at least two Americans are among hundreds killed in the Philippines typhoon.

The Philippines' government count of the dead stood at over 17-hundred as of Tuesday but that number is expected to grow.

Aid is pouring in from around the world and U.S. military personnel have arrived on the scene to take part in relief efforts.

The USS George Washington and other Navy ships are heading to the disaster zone.  Hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced by the colossal storm. (Metro Networks Inc)
