Americans are giving a thumbs up to football and a thumbs down to shopping going into this Thanksgiving.

In a new survey conducted by the mobile app Skout, almost 80 percent of respondents between ages 18 and 39 say they think retail stores should be closed Thanksgiving Day so that workers can spend the holiday with family and friends. Many want to keep the tradition of football alive as well, with over half of respondents saying they’ll watch a game this year.

Forty-four percent say they’ll be taking part in a potluck-style dinner with their loved ones. When asked what the most likely way to ruin Thanksgiving is, topping the list is awkward conversation at the table, followed by a poorly cooked meal and an unenthusiastic host.
