NEW BEDFORD - Two New Bedford residents are arrested after police witness an alleged drug deal.

Members of the New Bedford Police Narcotics Unit were targeting street level narcotic sales in the North End Tuesday when they witnessed Mitchell Jackson, 27, purchase heroin from Eric Victoria, 26.

Police immediately arrested Jackson in the area of Eric's Way and Nash Road. He was found in possession of heroin.

Victoria was arrested a short time later after he was identified as the man who allegedly sold heroin to Jackson. Victoria was also found in possession of cash.

Victoria has been charged with distribution of heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws. Jackson is charged with possession of heroin and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Victoria was arrested in August of 2017 on an unspecified warrant.
