A tip from an alert neighbor helped Westport Police track down a breaking and entering suspect.

A caller to the Police Department on Monday reported that he had seen a man running from a house on Briggs Road holding a laptop.

Det. Sgt. Antonio Cestodio says police responded and found a door to the house kicked in. The neighbor was able to provide police with a description and the plate number of the man's car.

Following an investigation, police arrested 47 year old Jarrod Browne of R Drive in Westport. He was arraigned in the Fall River Justice Center on charges of breaking and entering in the daytime, larceny and malicious destruction of property.
