An alert firefighter from the Cape Cod town of Dennis is being credited with saving the life of an 85-year-old woman who had fallen in the snow last night.

Firefighter Geoffrey Mulholland was on the second floor of the Dennis fire headquarters around 9 p.m. when he heard a faint cry for help.  He gathered other firefighters to listen, they yelled out, and they heard the weak voice again.

They rushed next door to find 85-year-old Mary Aiken lying in the snow with her clothes frozen to the ground.  Her vital signs indicated she was in a life-threatening situation from hypothermia.

Aiken was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. (Metro Network Inc.)
