BOSTON (AP) _ Attorney General Maura Healey says she's backing Hillary Clinton for president.

Healey becomes the highest profile Massachusetts Democrat to throw her support behind the Democratic front-runner.

Other top Democrats, including U.S. Elizabeth Warren, have stopped short of endorsing any candidate in the Democratic primary.

Gov. Charlie, Baker, the state's top Republican, has declined to endorse a candidate in the GOP presidential primary.

Healey said she plans to campaign for the former secretary of state.

In an email to supporters Healey said Clinton's economic plan will fight what the attorney general calls the nation's core challenge _ raising incomes for everyday Americans and closing the equality gap in earnings.

Healey is planning to campaign for Clinton in Exeter, New Hampshire, on Aug. 29.
