Town officials in Acushnet have set the date for a special debt exclusion election, letting voters decide whether the town should spend $5.2 million for a new police station.  Selectman Chairman David Wojnar.

A Special Town Meeting approved the police station project last Monday.  Wojnar says the board gave consideration to holding off the special election till the Annual Town Election in April, but Mass. General Law requires that a special election must be held within 90 days of a town meeting vote.
