Acushnet residents who reviewed plans for the ecological restoration of the former Acushnet Sawmill property Wednesday  night, seemed generally pleased by what they saw.  The Buzzards Bay Coaltiion wants to convert the 19 acre site into a recreation destination for area residents.  Everett Philla, a member of the Acushnet Conservation Commission, tells WBSM  News, he learned something new about the project.....

The Coalition is also planning walking paths, scenic overlooks and an education center on the property.  Coalition Vice President Brendan Annett says the project still needs various local, state and federal permits....

The coalition has been awarded $1.2 million from the New Bedford Harbor Trustee Council to pay for the work.
