The terror attacks of 9/11 were remembered Wednesday in America's largest cities, and even it's smallest towns.

The town of Acushnet paid tribute to those who perished in the 9/11 attacks, with over 100 people attending the 12th anniversary ceremony at the town's 9/11 memorial, the only site in the region that displays remnants from each of the attack sites.

Fire Chief Kevin Gallagher led the ceremony, and says the two-year old memorial will be a tool to teach future generations who will only know of the attacks from their history books.

Gallagher was joined by school children, leading the crowd in the "Pledge of Allegiance" and moments of silence.

The Chief thanked the members of the town for their numerous donations that made the construction of the memorial possible.
