Acushnet Police Search for Man in Dog Abuse Case

Acushnet Police

Acushnet Police are looking to the public for help in an animal abuse case.

According to Acushnet Police, a witness reported seeing a young, white male in a grey jogging suit toss a black plastic bag over the Slocum St. bridge. The unidentified male then ran off, last seen headed south on River Road.

Police say inside the bag was a dead four-year-old brown and white female pitbull. The dog had a number of injuries, including dog bites to the face, consistent with injuries resulting from dog fights.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Officer Ryan Lavoie or Detective James Costa with the Acushnet Police Department at 508-998-0240.
