Town officials in Acushnet continue to trim down the cost of a proposed new police station.  The Board of Selectmen is hoping to submit a cost-efficient proposal for a new station at the October 22nd Town Meeting.  Selectman David Wojnar says officials have trimmed several hundred dollars off the cost over the past couple of weeks.

Wojnar says the Board is also looking at using money from the town's rainy day fund and the exsisting town budget, to hold down the cost even further.  The new station is planned for town owned land on Middle Road, next to the E-M-S headquarters.
