Acushnet Police arrested a man who pulled a knife on an officer Sunday night.
Chief Michael Alves says they received a call around 9:45 p.m. about suspicious activity near 372 Middle St.

During the course of their investigation an officer encountered 23-year-old Dylan Pollitt.

Although they don't believe Pollitt was involved in the suspicious activity, it is believed he was involved in another unrelated crime.

The officer performed a pat frisk on Pollitt and discovered a knife.

As the officer was removing the knife, Pollitt performed an evasive maneuver and fled.

Alves says Pollitt had a second knife hanging from his neck and, during the pursuit, he pulled the knife on the officer who then tased Politt, causing him to fall.

Pollitt freed himself from the tasers then fled into the woods.

He was later found by a K-9 police unit and was taken to St Luke's hospital where he was treated and released for a dog bite.

Pollitt was then taken to the Bristol County House Of Correction and Jail while he awaits bail on charges of Disorderly Conduct, Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and Resisting Arrest.

Alves also says Pollitt has five outstanding felony warrants.
