Acushnet Motorcyclist Struck in New Bedford

An Acushnet man is recovering after being struck by a car while on his motorcycle.

The accident took place just before 5pm Wednesday, as 25-year-old Adam Santos was riding his street bike east on Penniman Street in New Bedford.

New Bedford Police Officer Luis Cabral tells WBSM News Santos’ trouble began when he crossed the State Street intersection.

The force of the collision threw Santos off of his bike and about 30 feet from the scene of the crash.

He was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with a broken leg.

Officer Cabral says the unidentified female driver may face a citation. The investigation is ongoing.
