Acushent Formal Wear Shop Named “Small Business Of The Year”

The region's Small Business of the Year is a formal wear shop on Main Street in Acushnet. 

The New Bedford Area Chamber of Commerce announced their selection of Main Street Formals on Thursday.

Robert and Kathleen Brunelle have owned the business for eight years.  They've used direct mail and online marketing techniques and top-notch customer service to build their business.

Some might wonder how successful Main Street Formals can be, located away from the center of town in Acushnet.  Robert Brunelle calls it "a quaint location."

Brunelle says he's proud that his business has been a good community partner, supporting other Acushnet organizations as much as they can.

He says that's something he learned from Joaquim Benedito, the previous owner and Brunelle's former employer, who founded the business in 1985.
