Emergency crews are on scene after an accident outside a Southeastern Regional Transit Authority bus terminal Wednesday night.

WBSM's Brian Thomas says the accident took place a little before 6 p.m. and involved a car and a van and that the airbags were deployed in both vehicles.

New Bedford Police say the accident took place near Elm St. and N. 6th St.

Thomas says two people were taken from the scene by ambulance.

The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.

Thomas says N. 6th St. near the Octopus Intersection and Elm St. from Acushnet Ave. to County St. were closed, but reopened sometime around 7 p.m.
