No one ever said politics was an easy game, but what happened Thursday to defeated City Council candidate Ian Abreu appeared to go too far.

When Abreu and his family woke up on Thursday, they were told about signs posted all over the city reading “R-I-P, Ian Abreu.”

The candidate tells WBSM News, the signs aren’t funny and he’s asked the Police to begin an investigation to determine who’s responsible. Abreu says Police want to know exactly where the signs were found…

Abreu says if the mission of the sign-makers was to discourage him from running again for office, that mission has failed. Abreu says he plans to run again two years from now.
