Abington Marine Returns Home One Last Time

A U.S. Marine sergeant from Abington is making his final trip home.

The body of Sgt. Daniel Vasselian is scheduled to return to Massachusetts on Tuesday.

He will be escorted by state police from Logan International Airport to Abington at about noon.

Residents are encouraged to line the route in town to show their respects.

Visiting hours are set for Wednesday at Quealy and Son Funeral Home.

A funeral Mass is scheduled for Thursday at St. Bridget Church followed by burial at Mount Vernon Cemetery.

The 27-year-old Vasselian was killed in combat in Afghanistan last week.

Vasselian celebrated his fourth wedding anniversary earlier this month.
