Aaron Hernandez Associate Indicted As Accessory
An associate of Aaron Hernandez has been indicted in Massachusetts on a charge of accessory to murder after the fact in the killing of a friend of the former New England Patriot.
Bristol District Attorney Samuel Sutter said Friday a grand jury indicted Carlos Ortiz on a single count in connection with Odin Lloyd's killing.
Ortiz earlier pleaded not guilty to a gun charge related to the case. His attorney says Ortiz also will plead not guilty to the new charge. He says a Friday hearing on the gun charge has been delayed to next month.
Lloyd was found shot to death on June 17 in an industrial park in North Attleborough, near Hernandez's home.
Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder in Lloyd's death. He's being held without bail.
