Hernandez was found not guilty on two counts of murder for the shooting deaths of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado at a traffic light in Boston’s South End on July 16, 2012. Prosecutors say Hernandez became enraged when the two men disrespected him after one of them spilled a drink on him at a Boston nightclub.

Hernandez was sentenced to four to five years on a gun charge associated with the incident. He is already serving a life sentence for the 2013 fatal shooting of Odin Lloyd.
