See what happened 12000 feet in the sky for this unfortunate skydiver. Don't worry though, there's a happy ending.

This video has been making its rounds over social media over the past day or two. The video is filmed on a GoPro camera attached to one man's helmet during a skydive run. It starts off like any other skydiving video until around the 1:05 mark where you can start to see the other skydiver lose control. What starts off as a normal jump quickly turns into a heroic effort by the camera man when he acknowledges that his partner is actually going through a seizure 12,000 feet in the air.

What unfolds after his acknowledgment seems to come straight out of an action movie scene. At 1:19 you can see the hero attempt to grab his buddy but results in unfortunately sending him into a faster free fall. Our hero then demonstrates a extremely dangerous and well trained skill known as AFF, or accelerated free fall technique. He was able to pencil dive down to his friend and in a James Bond-esk move is able to grab his partner and pull his parachute before pulling his own and both landing safely.

I first saw this video on my friend's Facebook page. It especially hit home for him because he is in the skydiving profession. With over 1000 jumps under his belt he along with his co-workers have adopted the phrase "Blue Skies, Black Death" into not only their work but their lifestyle. The quote is a way to cope with how dangerous their job is, that at any given moment those blue skies could lead to black death and to live life like it's going to be your last jump. Surely the sky diver in the video is thankful that he can see the blue skies for one more day.
