Fourth Of July Firework Shows And More In The Southcoast

New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park will host free daily walking tours between June 28 and July 4.

The free guided tours meet at New Bedford Whaling National Historical Park, 33 William Street, New Bedford, Mass. at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please wear appropriate walking shoes as the tour will last about 60 minutes. Also, you and your family can take a free Commercial Fishing and Scallop Vessel Tours between 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. at Pier 3 from June 28 to July 6.

Mattapoisett will host a 5K Road Race on July 4 at 9 a.m. starting in the Shipyard in Mattapoisett, Mass. The directions as well as course map and online registration are provided by going to Mattapoisett Road Race.

Mattapoisett Loins Club will host a free Movie in the Park series during the months of June, July, August and September at the Shipyard according to the Town of Mattapoisett. On Friday, June 27 at 8:30 p.m. the first movie "Frozen" will be shown.

Mattapoisett Women's Club's 2014 Garden Tour will be held on Saturday June 28 between at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. For tickets and further information, visit Sippican Village Soup. 

Would you like to experience the Fourth of July fireworks from the desk of the Battleship Massachusetts? On Friday, July 4, you can for a fee of $5! The gates open at 7:30 p.m. For further details, go to Battle Ship Cove.  If you are unable to come aboard the ship, you can view the fireworks over the Taunton River at 9 p.m.

The Blessing of the Fleet and Boat Parade will be held Saturday, July 5 at 10 a.m. on Onset Pier. The parade is free and open to the public. A music program will be presented. Falmouth Fireworks will be held on July 4. However, the fireworks committee still needs your support to reach their goal to cover the cost of the event. Donations can be made by visiting Falmouth Fireworks.

A Fourth of July Bike and Carriage Parade is also being held on July 4. Families dress in creative Uncle Sam costumes and walk in a parade at 10 a.m. from Main Street to Margaret E. Noonan Park. Costumes are judged after the parade. For more information, visit Falmouth Chamber of Commerce. 

Every Friday in July at 6 p.m. several different musicians will play in the Margaret E. Noonan Park. Check the Arts Foundation for more information.
