Voke Expansion Gets Approval From Final Member Community

Fairhaven Town Meeting voters gave the green light to a proposed expansion at Greater New Bedford Regional Vocational Technical High School. The estimated $17-point-1 million dollar project was accepted by state school building officials in October, and has already gotten approval from Dartmouth and New Bedford. Voke Superintendent Linda Enos says the great support from each member community for the expansion shows how important the school is to the region.

The expansion will add 15 classrooms, extra cafeteria space and replace the school’s original air cleaning system. Construction is slated to begin in summer 2013. Town Meeting also approved the official creation of North Street, a long-time public road that was discovered in 2006 as un-registered with the state.
