In boxing, a contender is a fighter in a position to challenge for a championship.  At the Golden Globe Awards, I was cheering for a unanimous decision for Sylvester Stallone as best supporting actor in a motion picture. And the governing body came through at the main event as "Rocky Balboa" scooped a Golden Globe for Creed.
