Two people are dead and a third is in the hospital after a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 495 in Wrentham.

State police say the southbound pickup truck struck the guardrail, rolled over, and burst into flames just before Exit 15 shortly after midnight Monday.

Two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. Police described them as a 22-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man, both from Massachusetts.

The driver — a 23-year-old Massachusetts man — was flown to the hospital.

No names or home towns were released.

The crash remains under investigation. All southbound lanes of the highway were closed but reopened just before 4 a.m.
