The man who brought "Grizzly Adams" to life is dead. Actor Dan Haggerty, who starred in the film and later television series "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams," died today from cancer.

After "Grizzly Adams," the Wisconsin native went on to appear in other films and television shows of the 70s, including "Charlie's Angels" and "The Love Boat."

"The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" was loosely based on the exploits of 19th century California mountain man James "Grizzly" Adams.
