18-Wheeler Makes Mess of Fairhaven Power Lines
Traffic in the business district of Alden Road in Fairhaven is slowed down, and being re-routed for those headed north, after an 18-wheeler made a mess of power lines.
Fairhaven Police Sergeant Tim Souza tells WBSM News the truck, owned by Severance Trucking out of Dracut, snagged a low-hanging Verizon wire as it pulled out of the Baycoast Bank parking lot and onto Alden Road around 11:30am.
Water and electricity have been turned off to the surrounding businesses. Verizon crews and Fairhaven DPW workers are working to restore services.
Police say the scene should be clear within a couple of hours.
